Inspire Her Project

Program overview :

Teenage pregnancy remains a significant challenge, with lasting social and economic effects on young girls and single mothers. Although rates declined from 20% in 2019 to 11% in 2022, many girls still face serious barriers to healthcare, education, and economic stability.

Single mothers and teenage girls are among the most vulnerable in our communities. Many struggle with poverty, limited access to education, inadequate childcare support, and social stigma. Single-parent households – especially those led by young mothers – are more likely to live below the poverty line, affecting both mothers and their children. Teenage mothers are also more likely to drop out of school, reducing their future earning potential.

The Inspire Her Project addresses these issues through community-based programs that promote resilience, empowerment, and long-term self-sufficiency.

Target Population :

The project targets:

  1. Teenage girls and single mothers aged 12 years and above
  2. Residents of Kisumu East and Kisumu Central
  3. Individuals who are :
  • Economically disadvantaged
  • Single parents
  • Out of school
  • Facing health or psychosocial challenges

Our Objective :

The Inspire Her Project aims to improve the quality of life for teenage girls and single mothers by promoting:

  • Reproductive and mental health awareness
  • Personal safety and emotional well-being
  • Access to education and mentorship
  • Economic empowerment and self-sufficiency

Our Approach:

Through education, mentorship, psychosocial support, and practical interventions, we work to equip girls and young women with the knowledge, confidence and resources they need to thrive.

As part of this commitment, Tunza Dada Inspire Her Initiative provides sanitary towels to vulnerable girls – especially those in mixed schools – helping them maintain dignity, stay in school, and manage their menstrual health safely.
